Another way to optimize your page for keywords is to include them in the URL. If you have an existing URL already in place that you are changing to optimize it, Shopify will automatically create a redirect from the old URL to the new one. This will ensure that you don’t lose any traffic from any links already published on social media or other websites.

In addition to not losing traffic, the redirect will also help you maintain the “link juice” from any links from another website to your page. This will allow you to keep the page authority (and the current keyword rankings) you have built through organic or acquired links.

Also note that you do not want extremely long URLs. While it might be tempting to place a lot of keywords in your URL, think about how that URL will look on a page or as a link in an email. Ideally use only the main keyword phrase in your URL, followed by other unique identifiers when needed.
